This Learning Curves discusses the evaluation of ADB’s support for achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

ONGOING EVALUATION. This report aims to validate findings and assessments of the final review, including relevance of the strategic focus of the country portfolio in Bhutan; and (ii) identify lessons and recommendations to improve design and implementation of ADB-supported activities in the upcoming CPS period covering 2014-2018. 

The 2013 Annual Evaluation Review assesses the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) operational performance in 2012, and synthesize lessons on development effectiveness for ADB and member countries. The review also provides an update on actions taken in relation to evaluation findings.

This paper documents the Chair's Summary of the Committee Discussion held on 19 June 2013. This meeting discussed the 2013 Annual Evaluation Review.

This document summarizes the discussion of the Development Effectiveness Committee of the ADB Board of Directors held on 22 May 2013. This meeting discussed the Thematic Evaluation Study on ADB’s Support for Achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

The Independent Evaluation Department has prepared this report to validate the CPSFR findings; assess the quality of the self-evaluation; and identify lessons and recommendations to improve the design and implementation of the upcoming CPS, as well as the quality and accountability of future self-evaluations. Since there was no new CPS for 2012, the CPS 2007–2011 is understood to guide ADB operations in the country until the new CPS is prepared.

This Learning Lessons focuses on crucial lessons for effective value chains based on ADB’s support and experience in this area.

ONGOING EVALUATION. This study will review ADB’s portfolio to assess the progress towards the mainstreaming of support for climate change mitigation and adaptation. In line with Strategy 2020, the study will also provide lessons and recommendations based on the regional context to enable ADB to increasingly support its developing member countries—as knowledge provider and financing facilitator—in enhancing climate resilience, reducing vulnerability and exposure to climate change, and moving to a low-carbon growth path in the coming years.

This edition of Learning Lessons reviews and analyzes lessons drawn from evaluation of Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) support to the education sector over the last 10 years.
