This sector has both formal and informal CoPs.
The formal CoP undertakes the following:
- provide strategic directions on ADB's assistance to City Cluster Economic Development, Urban Transport, Waste Management, Municipal Finance, and Urban Renewal
- advise on staff competencies and skills mix distribution, and innovative initiatives and good practices on municipal financing and planning models
The informal CoP regularly carry out the following tasks:
- produce publications such as the Urban Development Series, Urban Innovations and Best Practices, books, toolkits, impact stories, and newsletters
- conduct research studies and knowledge sharing events
The CoP consists of members from the 5 regional departments—East Asia, Central and West Asia, Pacific, South Asia, and Southeast Asia—and the Regional and Sustainable Development Department.
