ADB and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) held a Joint Workshop on Gender and Three Es (Education, Employment, and Entrepreneurship) in India, Indonesia, and the People's Republic of China at the ADB Headquarters on 27-28 February 2012.
The workshop brought together policymakers and researchers to identify barriers to gender equality in education, employment, and entrepreneurship in these three countries, and discuss policy options.
Vice-President of ADB for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development Bindu Lohani delivered opening remarks, highlighting the need to narrow gender gaps in education, employment, and entrepreneurship in Asia, based on the review of the OECD Council Ministerial Level Report on the Gender Initiative and the research conducted in the region. Discussions addressed gender in entrepreneurship.
