Ports, Waterways, and Shipping

To help countries rise to the challenge of international trade, ADB provides assistance to build and improve ports and shipping facilities. Projects for smaller regional ports and inter-island and inland waterway transport have also been undertaken in partnership with the private sector.

Recent examples of sector development include Port Qasim in Pakistan, Lae Port in Papua New Guinea and Colombo Port South Harbour in Sri Lanka.
