Asia: Regional projects

ADB supports the Clean Air Initiative for Asian Cities (CAI-Asia), an initiative jointly launched by ADB and the World Bank in 2001. The goals of CAI-Asia are

  • sharing knowledge and experiences on air quality management
  • improving policy and regulatory frameworks at the regional level
  • piloting projects to encourage innovation
  • assisting cities in implementing integrated air quality management systems

CAI-Asia has provided logistical support to a number of projects such as the Better Air Quality 2002 conference, the PAPA project, and CATNet Asia.
