Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG)

  • Taxis - EPD expects that by early 2002, over 75% of taxis will have switched to LPG. Replacing all 18,000 diesel taxis will reduce 25% of particulates and 6% of nitrogen oxides emissions from the motor vehicle fleet.

  • Light Buses - EPD has proposed an incentive scheme to encourage owners of some 6,000 diesel public and private light buses to switch to LPG or electric vehicles.
