Leaded fuel: Phased out since 2000
Unleaded petrol has been sold in Delhi since September 1998. This has resulted in a 60% reduction in the level of lead in the air. By April 2000, leaded petrol was banned throughout the country.
In 2002, the Ministry of Petroleum released a draft on its Auto-Fuel Policy Report.
