Nepal: Reducing in-use vehicle emissions

Ban on 3-wheelers

The government first responded to the growing problem of air pollution in Kathmandu in November 1991 by prohibiting the importation of 3-wheelers in Kathmandu.

Effective 16 November 2001, all 2-stroke 3-wheelers were banned in Kathmandu.
