Cooperation Fund for the Water Sector
ADB’s Cooperation Fund for the Water Sector, established in 2001, catalyzed the implementation of ADB’s Water for All Policy in the Asia and the Pacific region.
The Cooperation Fund for the Water Sector (CFWS) is a multi-donor facility established to help catalyze the implementation of ADB's Water Policy in its developing member countries. ADB's Board of Directors established the CFWS in December 2001.
CFWS finances a coherent program of activities designed to promote effective water management policies and practices in the Asia and the Pacific region. The CFWS’s objectives are to:
- add value to the water projects carried out by ADB’s Regional Departments
- increase synergy in ADB’s water sector operations
- strengthen regional cooperation
