The exotic Fiji Islands boasts of a booming tourism industry that, while lucrative, takes its toll on the country’s natural ecology and adds to the destruction caused by the usual earthquakes, tropical cyclones, and hurricanes. Despite these, Fiji posts marked progress in terms of MDG achievement and has a higher performance rate compared to other Pacific island nations. It is even expected to provide universal sanitation by 2015. Unfortunately, the island nation's populace still await safe drinking water supply services.
