Water supply and sanitation coverage in Indonesia’s urban areas has scaled up, but the same cannot be said about the country’s rural areas. Government and institutional reforms, new water policies, and more effective ways of doing business, however, are increasingly revitalizing Indonesia’s once sleepy water sector in the areas of water regulation, technology development, and post-tsunami reconstruction.
