Sri Lanka ’s water supply and sanitation coverage has a general upward trend from 1990 to 2002 until the South Asian tsunami hit the country, devastated its water infrastructures, and left nothing but salty brackish groundwater. Today, Sri Lanka is bouncing back and has almost fully recovered, with a new national water management policy under consideration.
