Nonrevenue Water

Nonrevenue water refers to water that a water utility does not receive any compensation for. It includes water not billed as a result of leakage, inadequate measurement, illegal use, and free (authorized) use. In Asian cities, NRW averages 30% of water production, but ranges from 4% to 65%, posing as a deterrent to the cost recovery of production investments.
