The lack of adequate sanitation facilities in both urban and rural communities is a major cause of water pollution and has adverse effects on people's health and lives. These case studies present developing countries' solutions to their sanitation problems which include the provision of ecological sanitation (ECOSAN) toilets, efficient water treatment systems, among others.
