Water Operators Partnership Program
WOP Key Components

The Water Operators Partnership (WOP) program is a platform for mutual cooperation among water operators and utilities.

The WOP program is one of the core components of the ADB–GWP Cooperation on Water Activities in the Asia-Pacific Region.

More About the WOP Program
KEY COMPONENTS
Establish water utilities networks in South Asia and Central Asia & Caucasus
ADB and GWP will work with the South East Asian Water Utilities Network to facilitate the network’s replication in South and Central Asia & Caucasus.
Forge twinning arrangements among utilities
Exemplary water utilities in the region will be tapped to help developing utilities enhance their skills and operational efficiency.  Singapore’s Public Utilities Board, Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, and Manila Water Company, Inc are just few of the exemplary utilities willing to share their knowledge and expertise.
Liaison with other donors and organizations
ADB and GWP will liaise with other donors and organizations to coordinate similar initiatives and secure grant funds to support the WOP and ADB’s Water Financing Program 2006-2010.
Coordination with UNSGAB
The partnership will coordinate with the United Nations Secretary General’s Advisory Board (UNSGAB) to ensure that the WOP implementation is consistent with UNGSAB’s guidelines. ADB and GWP will also coordinate with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) on the development of a database and internet interface for the operation of WOP.
