Poverty Reduction Strategy (1999)

In 1999, ADB published its Poverty Reduction Strategy responding to three key elements:

  • Pro-poor, sustainable economic growth
  • Social development (human capital, social capital, gender and development, social protection)
  • Good Governance

The Strategy outlines how these three elements underpin ADB's programs of policy reform, investment projects and capacity building.

View selected extracts from the Poverty Reduction Strategy that influence needs assessment and options assessment.
