Economic Analysis

'Resettlement itself should be seen as a development subproject, requiring its own institutional structure and financial resources. There will be economic costs, as well as potential benefits that can be identified by analyzing the situation with and without resettlement'. (para 94)
'…resettlement can also be seen as an opportunity to improve the living standards of those being resettled, through resettlement with development'. (App. 14, para 6) Details of the economic treatment of resettlement components is given in Appendix 14 of the Guidelines.
