World Bank Comparative Study of Dam Safety Regulation

A recent study available from the World Bank bookstore provides a comparative assessment of the regulatory frameworks applicable to dam safety in 22 countries:

Bradlow D., Palmieri A., Salman S, Regulatory Frameworks for Dam Safety: A Comparative Study

The following text about the book was taken from the World Bank website:

The first section of the book describes the dam safety regulation framework in each of the 22 countries. The second provides a comparative analysis of these regulatory frameworks and details the different approaches used. The final section offers recommendations on the contents of a dam safety regulatory framework. This study lists essential elements needed in all dam safety regulatory frameworks. Also discussed are a number of emerging trends in dam safety.
This study includes seven appendices which contain a dam safety statute and a sample operations, maintenance, and surveillance manual.
