Governance

ADB's approach to promoting good governance is based on a framework of four elements -

• accountability (public sector management, public enterprise management and reform, public financial management and civil service reform),
• participation (participation of beneficiaries and affected groups, public/private interface, decentralization if public and service delivery functions, cooperation with NGOs),
• predictability (law and development, legal framework for private sector development),
• transparency (disclosure of information).

ADB is currently undertaking a review of its Governance Policy.
