Through the Water for Asian Cities (WAC) program, the Asian Development Bank and UN-Habitat shared their resources to catalyze investments in urban water specifically geared toward the poor. Their partnership has resulted in several results-based collaborations. |

Implementing Pilot Projects for Small-Piped Water Networks To achieve the MDG Water Targets, ADB is implementing a pilot project that demonstrates speedy delivery of piped water supply to urban or peri-urban areas in India, the Philippines, and Viet Nam. Small-scale water providers (SSWPs) are being tapped to expedite water delivery to consumers. UNHabitat is implementing the pilot activities in India. |

Mekong River Catchment Water and Sanitation Initiative This program focuses on selected secondary cities in Cambodia , Lao PDR, Thailand, Viet Nam and Yunnan province of the People's Republic of China. In addition to improving access to water supply and sanitation services, the program aims to generate pro-poor water investments and promote sector reforms. See the 2008 Workplan [ PDF ]. |

Human Values-based Water and Sanitation Education ADB and UNHABITAT are also exploring the possibility of using tools for Human Values-based Water and Sanitation Education, jointly developed by UNHABITAT and SEAMEO, in ADB projects involving curriculum development and/or teacher training. Possible uses would be for projects in Lao PDR, Viet Nam, Kyrgyz Republic and Mongolia. |
