Yokohama 2017 Sustainability Activities

ADB and the City of Yokohama are partnering to make the 50th Annual Meeting, to be held from 4 to 7 May, a sustainable event. Guided by ADB’s event sustainability policy, ADB and the City of Yokohama are working together to enhance the economic, environmental, and social impact of the meeting through various sustainability activities.

Environment

• Treatment and recycling of solid waste
• Use of hybrid car for VIP vehicles
• Use of clean energy in the main venue
• Use of energy-efficient digital screens
• Use of recyclable signage

Economic

• Use of local resources to support local trade
• Use of local produce
• Follow fair trade practices

Social

• Promote inclusivity, diversity, and equality
• Enforce health and safety standards
• Work with suppliers on sustainability principles and practices
• Integrate sustainability concept in all communications
• Comply with legal and other related requirements
