Kazushi Hashimoto

Kazushi Hashimoto joined the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) as a Consultant in 2022.

After graduating from the University of Tokyo’s Faculty of Law, Kazushi joined the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF), an implementing body of Japan’s official development assistance at the time, in 1978. He was in charge of Japan’s official development assistance loan operations in countries including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar as a Director and Director General of OECF (then the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, now the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)). After retiring from JICA in 2009, he joined Yachiyo Engineering Company and assumed the position of Councilor of the Japan Water Forum until 2022. He is currently also an Advisor to the Japan Sanitation Consortium. He is active in advocating for institutional frameworks for better sanitation management.
