Nicolas J.A. Buchoud, Think7 Consultant and Advisor to the Dean

Nicolas J.A. Buchoud
Nicolas J.A. Buchoud joined the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) as a Think7 Consultant and Advisor to the Dean in October 2022.
He plays an integral role in guiding ADBI’s hosting of Think7 (T7) under Japan’s 2023 Group of 7 (G7) presidency and other collaboration with international forums, especially the Group of 20 (G20) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
He has co-chaired infrastructure-related task forces of the Think20 (T20) since Japan’s G20 presidency in 2019 and led numerous policy briefs and related global seminars, particularly with Indonesia’s Ministry of Finance. He is also a knowledge partner of the group of cities of both the G20 and the G7.
He is a fellow at the Global Solutions Initiative in Berlin, a fellow at OP Jindal Global University Centre for Sustainability in Sonipat, India, and an honorary member of the Indonesia Creative Cities Network. He is the co-founder and president of a Paris based think-tank specializing in sustainable finance.
An expert in complex systems transformations, he is a founding coeditor of the global editorial and research project INTERSECTING, initiated with ADBI and GIZ and presented in 2021 at the Nobel Week Dialogue. Previously, he served as a senior advisor to the President of the Greater Paris Regional Authority.
He is an alumnus of Sciences Po Paris in public law and public administration and Sciences Po Paris School for Urban Affairs. He also holds an MA in 17th century Chinese history completed at Paris La Sorbonne, jointly with Ecole Normale Supérieure de Fontenay St-Cloud.
