ADBI Supports G20 Recovery Policy Development as Global Challenges Mount

ADBI News Release | 12 September 2022

Bali, Indonesia – The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) has championed new research-based policy proposals to help Group of 20 (G20) leaders promote inclusive and sustainable post-COVID-19 growth in the face of mounting global challenges, ahead of their 15-16 November summit in Bali.

Six Think20 (T20) policy briefs were coproduced by ADBI experts under the task forces of the T20, the G20’s think tank engagement group hosted by Indonesia in 2022. They provide insights on addressing digital divides, renewable energy financing, pandemic learning loss recovery, social welfare as populations age, and growing digital cross-border payment risks.

ADBI Dean Tetsushi Sonobe, a co-chair of the T20 Indonesia task force on inequality, human capital, and well-being, explained that research-based measures such as these could help the G20 and partners address accelerating socioeconomic change and risks to the global economy during the closing session of the two-day 2022 Think20 (T20) Summit in Bali, Indonesia and online.
