Call for Papers on Green and Ethical Finance

Green and Ethical Finance
Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), Journal of Banking & Finance, and Sim Kee Boon Institute, Singapore Management University (SKBI-SMU)
Singapore

ADBI, the Journal of Banking & Finance, and the Singapore Management University’s Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics invite paper submissions for presentation at a research conference on green and ethical finance to be held on 16-17 September 2020 in Singapore.

The climate change challenge has raised important questions about the financial sector’s role in realizing a carbon-neutral global economy. The global financial crisis also brought critical ethical and governance questions for financial sector actors to the forefront. Such developments have together increased attention to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues among financial sector practitioners and regulators but have only slowly attracted the interest of researchers.

The conference will seek to both deepen and broaden this new strand of the literature and support the development of policy recommendations for economies in Asia and the Pacific.

Submission Procedure

Authors are requested to submit full papers via this link by 15 May 2020. Abstracts or incomplete papers will not be considered. Authors must acknowledge that their paper submission is not currently under review for publication elsewhere.

Authors of selected papers will be notified by 30 June 2020. Only authors of selected papers will be notified. Papers accepted and featured at the conference will also be considered for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal of Banking & Finance, to be published in 2022.

Papers will be selected by the conference organizing committee:

  • Thorsten Beck, Co-editor, Journal of Banking & Finance, CASS Business School
  • Dave Fernandez, Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics, Singapore Management University
  • Bihong Huang, Asian Development Bank Institute
  • Peter Morgan, Asian Development Bank Institute
