Call for Papers on Human Mobility and Transportation Impacts Due to COVID-19
The COVID-19 pandemic’s significant impact on cities and transportation networks has given rise to the urgent need for interdisciplinary research addressing human mobility, infrastructure, supply chains, logistics, and integrated mobility models.
ADBI is seeking high-quality original, unpublished research papers featuring quantitative analyses, case studies, and policy insights on related issues for possible inclusion in a special issue of the journal Frontiers of Future Transportation. Topics may include, but are not limited to:
- Impacts of COVID-19 on human mobility
- Human behavior effects on COVID-19’s spread and vice versa
- Vulnerability modeling
- Connections between epidemics and travel behavior
- COVID-19’s impacts on critical goods distribution
- Resilience of cities to pandemics
- Vulnerability of supply chains to shocks
- Disparities of impacts on travel behavior, based on race, age, gender, and income
Submission Procedure
Authors are requested to submit full papers via this link. Only authors of selected papers will be notified.
All paper submissions must comply with the Submission Guidelines for ADBI Publications.
Submissions from researchers who are citizens of ADB developing member countries are encouraged. Papers on topics related to Asia and the Pacific are of special interest.
Authors of selected papers will be invited to present their work during a related conference, the date and venue for which will be announced later. Should an on-site conference be possible, ADBI will cover the flight and hotel costs for one author from an ADB developing member country per accepted paper. The conference will be held virtually in the event of COVID-19 travel disruptions.
ADBI will support the publication fees for the papers that are finally accepted for publication in the special issue.
