Maralmaa (Marla) has over 8 years of professional experience in the fields of development and communications.

Prior to joining ADB, she led the Zorig Foundation in Mongolia overseeing local development initiatives in areas of gender, youth and education. During her tenure, she has initiated programs designed to address gender inequality in rural areas, youth unemployment and political participation of women and youth. She also has worked as an analyst for the Women, Business and Law project at World Bank to research accessibility and quality of childcare services in developing economies while completing her graduate studies.

Marla holds an MPA degree from Cornell University and was selected as an Obama Foundation Scholar at Columbia University.
