Mongolia: Cofinancing

Cofinancing operations enable ADB’s financing partners, governments or their agencies, multilateral financing institutions, and commercial organizations to participate in financing ADB projects. Additional funds are provided in the form of official loans and grants, technical assistance, other concessional financing, and commercial cofinancing such as B loans, risk transfer arrangements, parallel loans and equity, guarantee cofinancing, and cofinancing for transactions under ADB’s Trade Finance Program.

From 1991 to the end of 2016, cumulative direct value-added (DVA) official cofinancing for Mongolia amounted to $114.4 million for 29 projects, and $41.1 million for 47 technical assistance projects. Cumulative DVA commercial cofinancing for Mongolia amounted to $105.59 million for three investment projects.

In 2016, Mongolia received grant cofinancing of $2.8 million for the Managing Soil Pollution in Ger Areas through Improved On-Site Sanitation and $3 million for Strengthening Community Resilience to Dzud and Forest and Steppe Fires from the Government of Japan.
