Afghanistan: Country Operations Business Plan (2015-2017)

Institutional Document | November 2014

The country operations business plan (COBP), 2015-2017 for Afghanistan describes the consistency of the business plan with the country partnership strategy, including grants and projects in the pipeline for the country.

The COBP 2015-2017 for Afghanistan will be implemented under the interim country partnership strategy (ICPS) 2014-2015 and a new country partnership strategy (CPS) that is expected to be approved in late 2015 or early 2016. The ICPS extends the validity of the CPS 2009-2013 and its strategic focus. The priority sectors under the CPS 2009-2013 include energy, transport and communications, and agriculture and natural resources. The COBP 2015-2017 is consistent with this sector focus and will promote inclusive economic growth, regional integration, gender equity, governance and capacity development, and private sector development. The COBP 2015-2017 is also aligned with selected development priorities featured in the Afghanistan National Development Strategy and the national priority programs.
