Afghanistan: Interim Country Partnership Strategy (2014-2015)

Institutional Document | October 2014

This Interim Country Partnership Strategy defines ADB's strategic approach in Afghanistan for 2014–2015.

The Interim Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for 2014–2015 will bridge the gap between the CPS 2009–2013, thus extending its validity, and another CPS starting in 2016. The interim CPS is required as the government is in a state of transition with the extended election process and the drawdown of international security forces.

ADB’s focus will continue in three priority sectors: transport; energy; and agriculture, natural resources, and rural development. ADB will also support pillar 3 and to some extent pillar 2 of the Afghanistan National Development Strategy.
