Bangladesh: Post-Literacy and Continuing Education Project

The project was based on establishing an effective post-literacy and continuing education training program for learners to help them acquire functional literacy, social skills, and income-generating skills upon completion of the basic literacy courses. The project intended to (i) contribute to the development of a policy framework for post-literacy and continuing education, (ii) develop curriculum approaches and disseminate curricula, (iii) build the capacity of training organizations and strengthen the regulatory and supervisory functions of the government, and (iv) deliver post-literacy and continuing education to 1.7 million learners in rural areas of Bangladesh, with at least 50% of the beneficiaries being women. 

This report validates the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Less than successful.
