The Country Partnership Strategy for 2014–2018 is aligned with ADB's midterm review of Strategy 2020 and comparative strengths, and Bhutan’s own development strategy. The new strategy also complements efforts by other development partners.
The new strategy will support three strategic pillars: inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth, and regional cooperation and integration. The priority sectors of ADB lending operations under this strategy will continue to be (i) energy, (ii) finance, (iii) transport, and (iv) water and other urban infrastructure and services.
