Cambodia: Tonle Sap Lowlands Rural Development Project
The Tonle Sap Lowlands Rural Development Project was designed to support the development and upgrading of rural infrastructure such as rural access roads, irrigation canals, and village markets. The project aimed to enhance rural incomes and reduce pressure on the natural resource base of the Tonle Sap basin. This project was one of the major projects of the Tonle Sap Initiative, a partnership of organizations and people launched by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in 2002 to reduce poverty and manage natural resources in the Tonle Sap Lake and within the Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve.
