This draft policy paper was prepared for public consultation in light of the ongoing review and update of ADB’s 2009 Safeguard Policy Statement.
The draft revised safeguard policy or Environmental and Social Framework provides comprehensive environmental and social requirements that promote sustainable development outcomes. Guidance from the ADB Board of Directors will be sought on this document as part of the Working Paper, scheduled in Q4 2023.
