Governance Cooperation Fund: Closing Report – 2022
The Governance Cooperation Fund (GCF) was established in November 2001 as a multi-donor umbrella facility to support government-led governance reforms.
Activities supported by the GCF originally had strong links to ADB operational activities and/or concerns that were consistent with the priorities of ADB’s 1995 governance policy entitled, Governance: Sound Development Management (Governance Policy), as reflected in Country Partnership Strategies. The GCF also supported the Regional Technical Assistance (RETA) 6445 (TA 6445-REG) on Support for Implementation of the Second Governance Anticorruption Action Plan.
As of 30 September 2021, $7.6 million—or 99% of the total GCF resources of $7.61 million—had been committed for the implementation of TAs and grant-financed project components. The unutilized balance were returned to the Governments of Canada, Denmark, Ireland, and Norway.
