Validates the completion report’s assessment of the project, which aimed to improve the quality, higher rates of access, and more affordable primary health care in eight northern provinces in Lao PDR. IED overall assessment: Successful.

The rationale of the project was based on the policy and strategy of the Government of the Lao PDR and the strategy of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for investments in the country. The government committed to reduce poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals as well as its Sixth National Socioeconomic Development Plan in which health is one of four priority sectors.

This report validates the completion report’s assessment of the project, which aimed to improve the quality, higher rates of access, and more affordable primary health care in eight northern provinces in Lao PDR. IED overall assessment:Successful.
