Safeguard Policy Statement Review and Update: Stakeholder Engagement Plan (Version 2)

Institutional Document | July 2021

The Safeguard Policy Statement (SPS) review and update process will adopt a robust Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP). The SEP describes the process and content for engagement with stakeholders throughout the SPS review and update process. The SEP adopts an inclusive and transparent consultation process to solicit feedback from governments, private sector, civil society organizations, affected communities including women and vulnerable groups, internal stakeholders, and other stakeholders that may be identified in the course of the review.

The SEP is an iterative document, and it is based on a set of firm principles of meaningful consultation5 and stakeholder engagement. It is updated periodically to reflect the needs of various stakeholder groups. It identifies and catalogues their priority issues, the lessons learned from peer multilateral financial institutions, feedback from information sessions and consultations, staff inputs, and captures findings from other relevant studies.

This is the second version of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan. You may refer to the previous draft.
