    India: Khadi Reform and Development Program

    This policy-based loan program aimed to (i) revitalize khadi and village industries in creating sustainable employment and higher earnings to khadi artisans, (ii) increase artisan welfare, (iii) and develop select traditional industries. It was aligned with the government’s goal to increase income and employment in the rural nonfarm sector. This report validated the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Successful.

    Papua New Guinea: Pilot Border Trade and Investment Development Project

    The project aimed to remove the infrastructure bottleneck along the northern transport corridor connecting West Sepik Province (WSP) with Papua Province of Indonesia. It was also geared toward improving WSP’s business environment to take advantage of potential opportunities offered by the fast-growing Asian economies for growth, development, and employment.     Sri Lanka: Fiscal Management Efficiency Project

    The project aimed to ensure greater sustainability of public investments in Sri Lanka, particularly in the less developed regions, through more effective public resource management and greater resource mobilization from improved tax administration and compliance, and more efficient public expenditure management. Its expected outcome was enhanced fiscal space for social and economic development resulting from improved tax administration and compliance, as well as efficient public financial management (PFM) system.

    Viet Nam: Phuoc Hoa Water Resources Project

    This project sought to develop comprehensive water resources infrastructure to serve 48,130 hectares. Its expected impact was sustainable economic growth in rural, urban, and industrial areas in HCMC and surrounding provinces, in accordance with the regional master plan. The envisaged outcome was additional water supplies in the Saigon and VCD river basins for irrigation and DMI use. It was also expected to help in salinity control in the lower reaches of the Saigon and VCD rivers during the dry season.

    Philippines: Agrarian Reform Communities Project II

    The project was designed to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program by facilitating access of target communities to support services and markets. It was to cover 152 agrarian reform communities (ARCs) and 11 ARC clusters in 19 of the poorest provinces of the southern Philippines and assist some 150,000 persons in 44,000 households. It aimed to transform beneficiaries from subsistence farmers into agribusiness entrepreneurs. This report validated the completion report's assessment of the project.     The project was approved to restore the health of the natural resources and embarked on an environmentally sustainable model of economic development. The project’s expected impacts were sustainable biodiversity conservation to protect globally significant species and increased economic growth. Its expected outcome was improved and integrated biodiversity management that provided sustainable livelihoods for the population of the project area.     Tonga: Tonga–Fiji Submarine Cable Project

    The project aimed to support the development and operation of the submarine communication cable system linking Tonga to Fiji where an existing international submarine cable network was to give onward access to the world. The expected impact of the project was a widely available and affordable information and communication technology (ICT) services for improved economic performance and public service delivery in Tonga. The envisaged outcome was for the population of Tonga to have access to good quality and affordable broadband internet services.

    Indonesia: Financial Market Development and Inclusion Program

    This program was formulated to support the priorities of the government and the OJK to further develop and make the finance sector more inclusive by strengthening the regulatory structure for financial stability, deepening the financial market, and enhancing financial inclusion. The program’s expected impact was increased annual growth of the finance sector in alignment with the National Medium-Term Development Plan, 2015–2019. Its envisaged outcome was increased development and inclusiveness of the finance sector.
