    Bangladesh: City Region Development Project

    This project, targeting Dhaka and Khulna, aimed to enhance the urban growth potential and environmental sustainability, based on coherent regional and urban planning, infrastructure investments and services, and supported a regional development plan. The project's expected impact was enhanced growth potential and environmental sustainability of Dhaka and Khulna. The expected outcome was improved urban environment and infrastructure services based on effective regional and urban planning.

    India: Rural Connectivity Investment Program—Tranche 2

    This project is the second tranche of the multitranche financing facility that aimed to support the Prime Minister's Rural Roads Program (PMGSY) by the Government of India to improve rural road infrastructure. The project's envisaged impact was improved connectivity to markets, district headquarters, and to other centers of socioeconomic activity for the selected rural communities in the five participating states. Its intended outcome was improved accessibility of these selected communities in the participating states.

    Lao People’s Democratic Republic: Small Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project

    This project aimed to improve piped water supply and sanitation services for the urban population in Lao PDR's small towns. Its expected impact was expanded access to safe piped water supply and sanitation services for the urban population. The intended project outcome was improved access, quality, and reliability of piped water supply and sanitation services in the target small towns. This report validates the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Successful.

    Nepal: Air Transport Capacity Enhancement Project

    The project aimed to address main bottlenecks, such as safety compliance with international standards, capacity constraints, and CAAN’s organizational efficacy. Its envisaged impact was improved transport connectivity promoting broad-based economic growth in Nepal. The three expected outcomes were improved safety and capacity at TIA with reconfigured and upgraded airside infrastructure to international safety standards; enhanced safety at Lukla, Rara, and Simikot airports with additional safety infrastructure; and CAAN’s improved institutional capacity.

    Vanuatu: Port Vila Urban Development Project

    This project was designed to implement the country's investment plan to improve drainage and road network, which was an important component of the drainage and sanitation master plan for 2011–2025. The project’s expected impact was support for the sustainable development of Port Vila. Its expected outcomes at appraisal were an improved and sustained hygiene situation and reduced water-based hazards in Port Vila. The expected outcomes—as defined in the project completion report (PCR)—were safer and less congested roads, reduced flooding, and improved health and hygiene in Port Vila.

    Mongolia: Banking Sector Rehabilitation and Financial Stability Strengthening Program

    This policy-based loan supported the Government of Mongolia to stabilize and restructure the banking system, strengthen financial stability, and enhance competition among banks. The program’s envisaged impact was supporting government plans of achieving a well-developed and stable finance sector that could help the poor and vulnerable. The expected outcome was a strengthened and stabilized banking industry. This report validates the completion report's assessment of the program. IED overall assessment: Less than successful.

    Viet Nam: Ho Chi Minh City Third Ring Road Technical Assistance Project

    This project was to assist the Government of Viet Nam to enhance its readiness to finance and implement three sections of ring road 3. The project’s envisaged impact was enhanced construction of the ring road 3, contributing to reduced traffic congestion and improved connectivity of Ho Chi Minh City with surrounding cities and towns. The expected project outcome was design readiness of the ring road 3 project for financing. This report validates the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Less than successful.

    Cambodia: Flood Damage Emergency Reconstruction Project and Additional Financing

    The project aimed to restore and rehabilitate critical and social infrastructure assets, such as national and provincial roads, rural roads, and irrigation schemes, to their original standards. It targeted six severely flood-affected provinces: Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Kampong Cham, Kampong Thom, Prey Veng, and Siem Reap. This report validates the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Successful.

    People’s Republic of China: Xinjiang Altay Urban Infrastructure and Environment Improvement Project

    The project was to provide roads, water supply, wastewater and solid waste management, and centralized heating infrastructure to five county towns in Altay—Buerjin, Fuhai, Habahe, Jimunai, and Qinghe—and to the Takeshiken Land Port. It was to improve living conditions and the urban environment, support tourism to enhance inclusive growth, and increase the efficiency at land ports. This report validates the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Successful.
