Summary of the Analytical Study for the Safeguard Policy Review and Update: Strengthening and Use of Country Safeguards Systems (Draft for Consultation)

This draft document has three objectives to: (i) provide a broad comparison of the requirements of other multilateral financial institutions (MFI) for using CSS; (ii) review ADB’s current safeguard policy framework and document experience and challenges with using CSS; and (iii) suggest next steps for the evolution of ADB’s use of CSS. This document assists the consultations that are being undertaken to solicit external stakeholder feedback which will be considered to update and finalize the full comparative study.
