Tonga: Tonga–Fiji Submarine Cable Project

The project aimed to support the development and operation of the submarine communication cable system linking Tonga to Fiji where an existing international submarine cable network was to give onward access to the world. The expected impact of the project was a widely available and affordable information and communication technology (ICT) services for improved economic performance and public service delivery in Tonga. The envisaged outcome was for the population of Tonga to have access to good quality and affordable broadband internet services.

This report validated the completion report's assessment of the project. IED overall assessment: Successful.
