The Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF) 2023 Annual Work Program supplements the WFPF 2022 Annual Report. ADB’s priorities are to deepen and sustain support to water sector operations to ensure innovative solutions, quality, and sustainability and mainstream resilience.
Since its establishment in 2006, the Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF) has been instrumental in accelerating water sector investments with high development impact, supporting policy and institutional reforms, and building the capacity of water sector organizations and institutions across the Asia and the Pacific region.
WFPF has played a catalytic role in supporting the water sector operations of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). As of December 2022, WFPF had supported 115 water sector investment projects in 20 developing member countries (DMCs), catalyzed nearly $10 billion in ADB water sector investments, and benefitted an estimated 123 million people in Asia and the Pacific. In 2023, WFPF will continue to leverage financing, partnerships, and knowledge to promote water security, resilience, and social and economic development in Asia and the Pacific.
ADB's 2023 Water Sector Group (WSG) priorities are to deepen and sustain support to water sector operations to ensure innovative solutions, quality, and sustainability in projects and to mainstream resilience, particularly through climate adaptation, Paris Agreement alignment, digitalization, and inclusiveness.
