Water Financing Partnership Facility 2024 Annual Work Program

Institutional Document | February 2024

The Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF) 2024 Annual Work Program describes the WFPF’s support to the Asian Development Bank’s water sector operations to further promote innovative project design, strengthen capacity, and advance institutional reforms.

The Water Financing Partnership Facility (WFPF), since its establishment in December 2006, has been instrumental in mobilizing additional grant resources to support and add value to the water sector operations of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Its major achievements as of December 2023 include support in (i) delivering a total of $10.38 billion in committed investment projects to benefit nearly 127 million people; and (ii) improving the governance of the water sector through policy and institutional reforms, knowledge management, and capacity development.

In 2024, WFPF will continue to support ADB’s investments in the water sector to benefit more people through expanded access to safe drinking water supply and improved sanitation, more efficient and productive irrigation and drainage services, reduced climate and water-related risks, and improved water resources management.
