ADB supports Myanmar in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, with focus on infrastructure, education and training, and agriculture and rural development.

ADB commenced reengagement with Myanmar in early 2012. ADB has since been supporting the country’s national development strategies and its national priority programs in collaboration with other development partners.

In March 2017, ADB approved its first full country partnership strategy, 2017–2021 for Myanmar. The strategy is fully aligned with Myanmar’s national development agenda and other strategic priorities of the country’s new administration. The ADB program in Myanmar aims to promote sustainable and inclusive economic development, and job creation for poverty reduction. It focuses on infrastructure for transport, energy, and urban development; education and training; and rural development.
