Description
The 5th Asian Youth Forum to be held 2-7 May 2017 in Yokohama, Philippines, is a back-to-back to the 50th ADB Annual Meeting. Building on the outcomes of previous AYFs, AYF5 celebrates ADB’s 50 years with the theme “Youth for Prosperity of Asia and the Pacific.”
Objectives
The main outcomes of the 5th Asian Youth Forum are:
- Celebration of ADB’s work with youth in support of ADB’s 50th anniversary celebrations;
- Deepened understanding of youth development issues in the region especially of the marginalized and vulnerable;
- Strengthened recognition of youth’s contributions and competitive advantage in development as partners in achieving the SDGs;
- Improved capacity of youth to understand ADB operations and to contribute innovative and effective solutions to support future and ongoing projects; and
- Increased commitment from stakeholders and current partners in resourcing and mobilizing youth for the prosperity of Asia and the Pacific.
