This webinar will feature Dr Yoshihide Sekimoto of the University of Tokyo who will present his recent work on computational urban management in smart cities. Urban areas that make use of digital technology to gather data can help improve the efficiency of urban management. Dr Sekimoto will demonstrate the importance of engaging citizens as stakeholders in this process and how citizens and local governments can collaborate using technology to enhance urban planning.
About the Speaker
Dr Yoshihide Sekimoto is an Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo’s Institute of Industrial Science. Previously, he worked at the Center for Spatial Information Science, University of Tokyo from 2007-2013 and at the National Institute for Land, Infrastructure, and Management from 2002-2007. He holds a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Tokyo.
