How it works
You and up to four other team members would pit your wits and skills against one of three real development challenges: Know Your Customer, Rural Health, and Digital ID. It’s coding and more — you also need to pitch your solution to a panel of judges.

Objectives of DDF 2018
DDF 2018 will be a venue for participants to discover ways to maximize the emerging digital technologies for development within the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Participants will discuss new strategies and ideas, share best practices, and network with all development partners and stakeholders across the region. DDF 2018 will cover the following corporate priorities that are indicated in the ADB Strategy 2030:
- addressing remaining poverty and reducing inequalities;
- accelerating progress in gender equality;
- making cities more livable;
- promoting rural development and food security; and
- strengthening governance and institutional capacity.
At the same time, the event will highlight the progress of ADB’s internal IT reform initiatives and introduce the draft Digital Agenda 2030 to address the huge demand for more modern, digital-based solutions. The digital learning labs will provide participants with opportunities to explore how artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and the fintech space could be applied in their workplace as well as the importance of cyber security.
DDF 2018 participants are from ADB, national and local governments in DMCs, private companies specializing in digital technologies, NGOs and civil society sector, academic institutions, and include digital technologies for development practitioners, and young entrepreneurs.
Resource speakers will come from the private sector, governments, academia, and NGOs.

The Digital Development Forum is an ADB annual event on ICT for Development. Started in 2014, it has become a venue for high level discussions on digital technologies for development in Asia and the Pacific. It tackles country and sectoral/thematic development strategies towards a digital economy. The Digital Development Forum 2018 will focus on digital transformation of economies for our development member countries (DMCs) and ADB's institutional transformation in implementing its new corporate Strategy 2030.
