Summary
Cohosted by ADBI and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), back-to-back with the Group of 20 (G20) Investors Dialogue, this high-level seminar will provide insights on strengthening the global infrastructure development agenda and convergence between the G20 and developing Asian economies. Bringing together senior policy makers and industry representatives, the seminar will also highlight quality infrastructure development and investment in Asia, and policy tools and recommendations for supporting sustainable infrastructure investment.
The discussion focused on the policy integration of climate change and socioeconomic sustainability to help build alignment with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Policy makers and experts shared perspectives and insights on energy infrastructure for climate transition, debt sustainability of infrastructure investment, and enhancing climate resilience in infrastructure planning toward net-zero emissions.
Objectives
- Examine the importance of incorporating sustainability aspects in investment decision-making for quality infrastructure development in Asia and the Pacific
- Identify strategies and innovative approaches for boosting infrastructure growth that promotes sustainable development and regional connectivity
- Examine challenges and opportunities to support clean energy investment for climate resilience in Asia
- Produce policy recommendations for integrating ESG-SDG priorities into infrastructure investment decisions
