Summary
This webinar inaugurated the new ADBI Voices of Inclusion Speaker Series, aimed at promoting gender inclusion in Asia and the Pacific through knowledge and experience-sharing by influential thinkers. It featured Chantale Wong, who was recently appointed as the United States Executive Director to the Asian Development Bank (ADB). She discussed navigating her career in government and international institutions, and her aspirations as a female leader. Simultaneous Russian interpretation was provided.
About the Speaker
Ambassador Wong has over 30 years of experience in finance, technology, and the environment, including in the United States Office of Management and Budget, Departments of Treasury and Interior, Environmental Protection Agency, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration. She was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as Vice President for Administration and Finance and Chief Financial Officer at the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
Her experience also includes service in local government, the private sector, and non-profits. She is passionate about visual storytelling to bridge cultural gaps and inspire social change. She holds an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where she was a Women’s Leadership Fellow, and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
