International Financial Institutions Transport Sector Business Opportunities Seminar in South Asia (IFI BOS)

The IFI BOS will focus on transport-related procurement opportunities with the Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and World Bank in three South Asian markets (India, Bangladesh and Pakistan). The presentation by the IFIs will include: 1) Transport sector priorities in South Asia; 2) Sector trends, expertise and technologies of interest to IFIs; 3) Procurement guidelines and processes; 4) Pipeline of transport projects; and 5) Potential opportunities for Canadian companies. A panel discussion and moderated Q&A session will follow to facilitate active engagement among participants.

Objectives

Through the IFI BOS, the Office of the Liaison to the International Financial Institutions (OLIFI) network at the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service aims for its clients to:

  • Gain greater awareness of ADB, AIIB, and WB procurement opportunities in the transport sector in South Asia;
  • Have better understanding of IFI operations, procurement guidelines and processes;
  • Leverage opportunity to engage key sector specialists/speakers from the Banks through the panel discussion/Q&A session;
  • Obtain valuable and practical insights (and tips) directly from key sector specialists/speakers to enhance quality and content of an expression of interest;
  • Build and pursue actionable pipeline of projects in the transport sector best matched with the TCS clients’ capabilities;
  • Learn from peers and receive coaching from OLIFI Trade Commissioners.
